Procedures for Collection of Trash, Recyclables, Organic Yard Waste
Upper Moreland Township is a first class Township dedicated to recycling and waste reduction. Our residential trash and recycling operations target both environmentally responsible and cost effective programs designed to preserve resources for the future. During each trash day, three vehicles or more may pass by your residence. Generally, one truck will get your papers, one will collect your trash, and one truck will pick up your glass and cans. Yard waste is picked up on Mondays. Seasonally, leaf vacuuming is also possible, see Upper Moreland Township Leaf Zones Map (PDF). Any one of these trucks could show up at your curbside as early as 6:30 a.m. Recycling is required by both State and Municipal law. Failure to recycle properly can result in fines or discontinuation of service.
Should you have any questions, call the Public Works Department at 215-659-4070 between 6:45 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. Monday through Friday.
