Current Advisory Threat Level:

The Township of Upper Moreland has had more than a few inquiries on the meaning of terrorism threat levels. Also being asked is what does an individual have to do to 'be prepared'?

Terrorism is an ugly subject that makes people uneasy. These senseless acts are out of our control. They are random and violent in their ways. How can you be prepared for something that may or may not happen? The same way you prepare for what to do if a fire ever occurs. Have a plan.

No one wants another 911 event to occur. No one wants a fire in his or her house either. But both of these could occur. Unlike fire prevention it is difficult for individuals to prevent a terrorist event. But just as knowing what to do if a fire occurred can lessen the consequences, knowing what to do if a terrorist act occurred can lessen the impact and final outcome.
