3. How do I register for a Parks and Recreation program?

You may visit the Upper Moreland Parks and Recreation website at www.uppermorelandrec.com in order to view and / or register for our recreation programs.

4. What are your office hours?

UMPR is open Monday - Friday from 8:30am - 4:30pm.  The Department of Parks and Recreation offices are located at the Upper Moreland Township Building, 117 Park Ave, Willow Grove, PA  19090.  You may reach us at recreation@uppermoreland.org OR (215) 659-3100 x 1039.

5. May I bring my dog to a park?

Mill Creek Park, on Mill Road, Hatboro, is home to the Upper Moreland dog park. The dog park at Mill Creek Park is located between Mill Road and the Turnpike fence only. Dogs are permitted, on leash and under owner control. Once at the dog park, dogs are permitted off leash.  There are two separate areas. One is designated for small dogs, 25 lbs and under, and the other is for large dogs, 26 lbs and over.  The total area of the two dog parks is just under an acre.  The park is open dawn until dusk. Mutt mitt areas are provided for your use; please clean up after your dog.

Township ordinance prohibits dogs, on or off leash, at any of our remaining parks.

6. How can I reserve an athletic field or court?

All athletic fields and courts are able to be reserved by Upper Moreland based groups only.  However, fields and courts are available for use when not reserved.  Any group wishing to make a reservation must complete a reservation form, provide proof of insurance, and a roster of users.  Upper Moreland policy states that only groups consisting of 75% Upper Moreland residents may reserve fields and courts.

8. When do parks close?

Most parks are open dawn to dusk with the exception of those with lighted areas for evening play. 

9. Can I fish in Woody's fishin' hole at Masons Mill Park?

A catch and release pond is available for fishing for everyone.  If you are 16 and over, you will need a valid PA fishing license.  The pond is stocked with pan fish, small mouth bass, catfish, and other assorted fish annually in late May or early June pending weather conditions.  

10. Does parks and recreation operate a pool?

Unfortunately, no.  We do; however, offer a spray pole at Masons Mill Park.

11. May I reserve a park for a Large Community Fund Raiser?

The Parks and Recreation Department receives scores of requests for community fund raising events.  To assist the process, the Board of Commissioners has approved a Large Group Reservation Policy.  Please review the policy prior to contacting the Parks and Recreation Department.  For the policy please click here
