Upper Moreland Township seeks applications / resumes for the position of Commissioner of Ward 2. Anyone interested in serving as Commissioner for Ward 2 must be a current resident of Ward 2, must have been a resident of Ward 2 for at least one year, and must be a registered voter.  The position will be appointed by the Board of Commissioners to serve through December 31, 2027.

Upper Moreland Township is pleased to announce the new Self-Service Online Portal for permit application submissions and payments to the Code Enforcement Office.

The new portal allows you to submit online permit applications for construction, bulk items, zoning use registration, as well as make payments, once you create a user account. The Township is transitioning to an all-electronic permit application submission process. While permit applications and payments will still be accepted in-person for a period of time, it is highly recommended that you create an account and familiarize yourself with the online portal process to avoid any confusion.

Upper Moreland Homestead Farm Presentation

Taking a Closer Look Into the Reidenbach Family, Pennsylvania German Pioneers & Architecture, and the Agrarian Way of Life Last Half of the 18th Century.

The presentation, "The Farmstead at 250," offers an in-depth examination of the Reidenbach Family, focusing on their identity as Pennsylvania German pioneers, their architectural style, and the details of their agrarian existence in the latter half of the 18th century. It will explore the tumultuous period through the lens of local figures and major events that influenced those who lived, planted, harvested, and thrived there.

Residents are reminded about the designated Snow Emergency Routes throughout the Township.  Parking is prohibited on these routes during a snow emergency to allow for efficient plowing and emergency access.

Hatboro has informed Upper Moreland that the West Moreland Avenue bridge project will be starting soon. Motorists will see detour signs being placed shortly. We are being told that motorists should expect to see the road closed in the beginning of January 2026. Motorists who use this road should plan accordingly for a new route and should plan additional time.

This will be an extended closure. This project is complex due to a number of factors including utility infrastructure that needs to be moved before the actual bridge is replaced and then when done, needs to be placed back, it is a project and involves multiple agencies.

Please plan accordingly and follow all detour directions.

As West Moreland Avenue Bridge is owned by the County, and this is a County project, please contact the County for additional information.

The construction project for the replacement of Montgomery County Bridge 38, W. Moreland Ave. over Branch of Pennypack Creek, has begun in Upper Moreland Township and the Borough of Hatboro. The bridge is located on W. Moreland Avenue, between Flamingo Road (Upper Moreland) and Broad Street (Hatboro), adjacent to the Hatboro Memorial Swimming Pool.  W. Moreland Avenue will remain open through the initial phase of the project, which consists of site clearing and utility relocations.  At the start of bridge demolition, which will begin approximately January 2026, a PennDOT-approved full detour will be implemented.  The bridge will be closed to all vehicles and pedestrians at that time and remain in place through the completion of the project.  Additional details regarding the project site and detour can be viewed below.  The project is expected to be completed in December 2027.
